Sanctification – Seek God's Honor
2 Timothy 2:20. To be sanctified, we must have a desire to be sanctified and set aside for God's use. We must have a desire in our heart to be honored by God. God loves us all, but He does not honor us all. 2 Timothy 2:20 says, “But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.”
In fact, none of us deserve honor from God because of our sin nature. All us us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
At the same time, God loves all of us and desires to honor all of us in His Kingdom. To make this possible, God has given us a free gift in the form of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. By us accepting this free gift, we yield ourselves to be vessels of honor. For us that yield to God and seek God's honor, this yielding and seeking becomes part of the sanctification process where we are set aside for God's use.
