I WILL POUR OUT MY SPIRIT UPON ALL FLESH
One aspect of spiritual revival is that it is an extraordinary movement of the Holy Spirit. The prophet Joel spoke of this in Joel 2:28-29 and Peter spoke of it in terms of the baptism of the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts. This is the essence of spiritual revival where God’s Spirit is poured into a body of believers and where God’s Spirit is activated in his people and through them.

As Christians, how can we have revival without a movement of the Holy Spirit? The defining point of revival is when an extraordinary movement of the Holy Spirit comes upon a congregation of believers as happened in Acts 2. Without the Holy Spirit, there is no revival. There is no movement or refreshing that brings a body of believers closer to God. Revival only comes through the Holy Spirit.
