Definition Of Lust - Idolizing Anything Above God
Colossians 3:5. The definition of lust includes idolizing anything above God. When you commit sex out of marriage, you are in lust. You are putting the sex act above God. When you are willing to do anything for a new car, you are in lust. You are putting the car above God. When you hate or envy someone because they have more money than you, you are in lust. Your envy is being put above God's commandment to love your neighbor. God is not pleased when we are in lust. God tells us in the Bible to stop idolizing things above Him (Colossians 3:5, "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:")
COLOSSIANS 3 BIBLE SCRIPTURE: Colossians 3:5, "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:"
