Fear God Because it is Our Duty to Do So

Ecclesiastes 12:13. Some people fear and worship God. Others either do not acknowledge God, or ask why they should fear God. The Bible tells us that it is our “whole” duty to fear God. Ecclesiastes 12:13 says, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” God is the one person that all mankind should fear and obey.

We all have a purpose in life whether we know it or not. God as our Creator has given each of us a purpose. That purpose is to fear God’s righteousness and to keep His commandments. We were created by God to worship God. Though many of us turn away from God, God is a loving God that through His Son, Jesus Christ, has given us the way to obey and worship God. Thus, through Jesus Christ we can fulfill our duty to fear, worship, and obey God.

ECCLESIASTES 12 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Ecclesiastes 12:13, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
