Ephesians 4
Stop Anger By Not Thinking and Speaking Evil on Others
Ephesians 4:31. The Bible tells us that it is our responsibility to stop our anger when it is based on evil intentions. People have so many excuses for being angry. These excuses can include things like being threatened, being hurt, being frustrated, and so on. These may be valid excuses for being angry, but does your angry reaction line up with the Word of God?
The Bible Tells Us Not to Let Our Anger Turn to Sin
Ephesians 4:26. The Bible tells us that anger is not a sin, but most anger causes us to sin. Ephesians 4:26 says, “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:”. Anger is a violent emotion that can cause you to do something contrary to God.
How to Add Value, A Christian Perspective
Ephesians 4:28. The Bible teaches us how to add value in any situation. We add value by working on things that are good. Ephesians 4:28 says, “... but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth”.
Christian Patience Enables Unity and Peace
Ephesians 4:2. All Christians need patience to be able to do the Lord's will. God has called all Christians to minister the Gospel and this must be done in unity and peace. No matter how much you desire a family member or acquaintance to receive the Good News of Jesus Christ, it cannot be done by force. It can not be done in strife.
A Born Again Christian Is A New Man, Righteousness and Holy
Ephesians 4:24. As a new man, a born again Christian is created in righteousness and holiness. Through Christ the new man now has relationship with God. Jesus has taken on the punishment for our sins so that we can renew our relationship with God that was lost with Adam and Eve.
Our New Man Is Formed in Righteousness, A Christian Value
Ephesians 4:24. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we are a new man. We began to take on Christian values because our new man is formed out of God's righteousness. Righteousness as a Christian value means that we are in right standing with God because of Jesus' act of salvation.
Help Me, Do Not Steal From Me
Ephesians 4:28. It is in our human nature to exploit people rather than help them. When someone says help me or they are seen in a vulnerable position, our sin nature sees this as a sign of weakness to be exploited. We steal office supplies from our employer. We cut in line. We borrow money and do not pay it back. We take welfare by overstating our needs.
Call Evil Good – Self-Centeredness Versus Love
Ephesians 4:15. Scams target people that are totally self-centered. If in all your daily activities you focus on seeking truth and promoting brotherly love, you will not be scammed. When someone calls evil good, people will believe it because they are blinded by their own self-gratification.
Unforgiveness Causes A Bad Relationship
Ephesians 4:32. Another thing that causes a bad relationship is unforgiveness. Unforgiveness brings strife into a relationship. If we think someone has done us wrong, our natural tendency is to become bitter, angry, talk about, and even desire to hurt the other person. From a Christian perspective, the problem is not that the other person did you wrong, it is our unforgiveness.
