The Bible says that Adultery is a Work of the Flesh
Galatians 5:19. When you read the Bible, it tells you that adultery is a work of the flesh and a terrible thing. On the other hand, most societies do not consider adultery a crime. Things like littering and illegal parking are a crime, but not adultery. The Bible lumps adultery right in there with murder, heresies, and other works of the flesh.
As with any work of the flesh, adulterers are willing participants. Satan may have tempted, but it was the flesh that made a conscience choice to commit adultery. The Bible tells us that we will not go to heaven if we do not repent from our adulterous ways (Galatians 5:19, “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,”).
