Sometimes Sleeping Difficulties Come When God is About to Do a Great Things

Genesis 15:12. Sometimes sleeping difficulties may be a sign that God is about to tell you something important. This was the case with Abraham in the Bible. God had caused a deep sleep to fall on Abraham, but with it came a ”horror of great darkness” (Genesis 15:12, “And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.”). Once Abraham went through this sleeping difficulty that must have felt like impending doom, God spoke to Abraham. God made a covenant with him and prophesied to him.

God is an awesome God and it can be quite disturbing when we first comes into our presence whether we are asleep or awake. In these cases, we must discern whether it is God's presence that is the cause of our fitful sleep. If it is God, it is then a time for us to listen and yield to God so that we will not miss what God is going to tell us.
