The Birth of Jacob, the First Scam Artist

Genesis 25:26: Jacob, the father of the twelve tribes of Israel, started his life as a scam artist. The name Jacob means “heel-catcher, supplanter, cheater, defrauder, deceiver”. Jacob received his name at birth when his mother gave birth to both him and his brother Esau. Jacob's brother was the first born, but Jacob was gripping Esau's heel as he came out of the womb. This was a sign that Jacob desired to be first born and supplant his brother's birthright (Genesis 25:26, "And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob; ...”). As from birth, Jacob continue to lust after his brother's blessing of being the first born. Jacob lived up to his name as a scam artist as he tricked his brother out of his birthright and tricked his father into giving him Esau's blessings.

GENESIS 25 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Genesis 25:26, "And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob; and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them."
