Sleep Needs Include Giving God the Time to Do a Work in You
Genesis 2:21. There are many needs for sleep. God has all of us sleep for a reason. One of the reasons is for Him to do a work in us. God can give us insight, visions, and directions why we are awake, but sometimes for Him to do something special in us He needs us to be asleep. This is a time when He can have our full attention and He can have complete control over our faculties. A good example of this was when God created Eve out of Adam's rib. To do this God had to have complete control of Adam so He put Adam to sleep. Then God was able to do a complete work in Adam to create Eve (Genesis 2:21, “And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;”).
