The Devil's Only Weapon in Spiritual Warfare is Trickery
Genesis 3:1. The devil has no capability to do us direct harm. He can only do us harm by trickery. In Genesis 3:1 it says, "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field…". In the Garden of Eden the Devil did no direct harm to Adam and Eve. All he did was use his craftiness to confuse and tempt Adam and Eve to disobey God. Adam and Eve were not forced by the Devil to eat of the fruit. It was his craftiness that led them to sin. In Genesis 3:4, the devil only said, "…Ye shall not surely die", but in fact Adam and Eve would experience death if they ate of the tree. The devil in no way forced Adam and Eve to do anything. It was only through the Devil being subtle and changing the word of God that Adam and Eve fell defeated in sin.
GENESIS 3 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Genesis 3:1, "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"
