John 14 Bible Commentary - The Way
Summary of John 14. Jesus says that in his father's house are many mansions, and he will go to prepare a place for each of us. I am the way, the truth, and the life. Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do. If you love me, keep my commandments. The Father will give you another Comforter, the Spirit of truth. The Holy Ghost will teach you all things. John 14 Biblical Advice and CommentaryJoh 14:6: Jesus, The One Way. Jesus is God and a man that walked on this Earth. He offers us salvation through His death and resurrection on the cross to whoever will believe in Him. This is why Jesus is the one way for all of us. He shows us by His life on Earth how to live. Through His death he took the punishment for our sin nature, our disobedience against God. By His resurrection He proved to us that we can defeat death. John 14:6 advises us that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life ... John 14:6: The Seven "I AM" Statements of Jesus. I AM the way, the truth and the life. I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.Joh 14:13: Prosperity Gospel: God is Glorified When He Prospers Us. Jesus states that it glorifies God to answer the prayers of those that ask in Jesus’ name. Jesus desires to prosper us because he loves us and to glorify God. See Scripture Commentary: John 14:13 advises us that Jesus answers our prayers to glorify his father. Joh 14:15: God’s Will is For Us To Keep The Commandments of Jesus Jesus tells us in John 14:15, “If ye love me, keep my commandments”. These commandments are also embodied in the Ten Commandments of the Old Testament. John 14:15 advises us that it is God’s will for us to love him and to love our neighbor in everything we do and say. Joh 14:17: Who is the Holy Spirit – He is the Spirit of Truth. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. As Christians, the Holy Spirit resides in us to comfort us, to guide us, and to be the Spirit of Truth in our lives. The Holy Spirit enables us to discern what is true and what is not.
