Summary of Luke 20. The chief priests and scribes asked Jesus who gave him authority to preach the gospel. Jesus then told of the parable of the vineyard and the evil tenants. The Jesus said that it was written that the stone the builders rejected would become the cornerstone. The the scribes asked him if it was lawful to give tribute to Caesar.
Summary of Luke 2. Joseph and Mary, great with child, went to Bethlehem to be taxed. As there was no room at the inn, she brought forth her first born son and laid him in a manger. An angel came to country shepherds near by and gave the good tidings of great joy. A heavenly host praised God. The shepherds went to Bethlehem to see the child.
Summary of Luke 19. Jesus enter and passed through Jericho and he saw Zacchaeus in a tree. Jesus told Zacchaeus, chief of the publicans, to come down and he would abide in his house. Jesus said the Son of man has come to seek and save that which was lost. Jesus then told the parable of The Ruler Who Gives Charge to His Servants. Jesus then headed toward Jerusalem.
Summary of Luke 10. The Lord appointed other seventy and sent them two by two. He said the harvest is great, but the laborers are few. Tell them that the kingdom of God has come. The seventy soon returned with joy saying that even the devils are subject to them. Jesus said that he had given them power to tread on serpents and scorpions; nothing shall hurt you. Jesus rejoiced.
Summary of Luke 3. The word of God came to John in the wilderness. He came preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. They wondered if he was the Christ, but he said one mightier would come who would baptize with the Holy Ghost. Jesus was baptized by John and the heaven opened up. The Holy Ghost descended like a dove.
Summary of Luke 1. It seemed good to write to you that you may know certain things. The priest Zacharias, whose wife was Elisabeth, went into the temple and the angel Gabriel spoke to Zacharias. Gabriel spoke that a son, John, would be born to them in their old age. Elisabeth conceived. Six months later the angel Gabriel went to Nazareth and told Joseph and Mary of their son, Jesus.
Summary of Luke 23. The multitude brought Jesus to Pilate. Pilate found no fault with Jesus. Pilate sent him to Herod to be judged. Herod sent Jesus back to Pilate, the Jews cried to crucify Jesus. Pilate gave sentence as that it should be as they required. Jesus was led away to be crucified. With two malefactors, he was crucified at Calvary. Jesus asked his Father to forgive them.
Summary of Luke 13. Jesus states that all are sinners and must repent or perish. Jesus then spoke of the parable of the fig tree. Latter Jesus was teaching in the synagogues on the sabbath. Jesus then healed a woman who had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years. The rulers of the synagogue objected to the healing because it was on the sabbath.
Summary of Luke 7. At Capernaum Jesus a centurion requested that Jesus heal his servant. Jesus marveled at the centurion's faith and the servant was healed. They then went to the city of Nain. There a dead man was carried out, the son of a widow. Jesus told the dead man to arise and he arose. People glorified God through out all Judaea and beyond.
Summary of Luke 9. Jesus gave his disciples the power over all devils and to cure diseases. The disciples then went through the towns preaching the gospel and healing. Herod heard about Jesus and though Jesus was John risen from the dead. Herod desired to see him. The disciples returned and the went to a desert place near Bethsaida.
