Luke 15:32. In the Parable of the Prodigal Son, Jesus illustrates to us how the spiritual dead can be brought back to life. In this parable the prodigal son leaves his father and uses a portion of his inheritance for “riotous living”. At this point his father considered his son dead, because his son was separated from him both physically and spiritually.
Luke 15:28. Jealousy and self-righteousness are not good causes for anger. The story of the prodigal son provides a great example of someone getting angry because of jealousy and self-righteousness. In this case, the prodigal son's brother was extremely angry when his father gave a great welcoming party for the prodigal son's return.
Luke 15:24. From a Christian perspective there is only one way to happiness and that is through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way for us to be reconciled back to God and to have true joy. Only through Jesus can we have a relationship with God who is the source of true joy on this Earth and forever more.
Luke 15:17. God desires for all of us to rely on Him, but it is our choice. The prodigal son had a choice to serve his father or squander his inheritance. He chose for a while to squander his inheritance. Once his money ran out and he was hungry, He started to value his relationship with his father.
