Our Sin Nature Will Side With Rebellion Rather Than Jesus
Luke 23:18. The essence of our sin nature is to rebel against God. This was personified when Jesus was brought before Pilate. The Jews had a choice of releasing Barabbas, a rebel, or Jesus, a man with no faults. The Jews in their defiant behavior chose to release Barabbas and for Jesus to be punished [Luke 23:18-19, "And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas: (Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.)" ]. This is the essence of our sin nature to side with rebellion and not with God.
