Avoiding Conflict in Christian Ministry
Matthew 7:6. The Bible teaches us as Christians that we should avoid conflict when ministering the Gospel. God tells us that we should spread the Gospel, but many times a Christian spreading the Gospel can cause conflicts with non-Christians. The bottom-line is that some people are not ready to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and conflict will result if we persist with telling God's truth. In situations like this avoid conflict. iIt is time to be prayerful and ask God what is His will.
Matthew 7:6 says, “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.” If someone is not receptive to the Gospel, it is like giving the Bible as a gift to a dog or casting pearls before swine. The truth will be ignored, misunderstood, and even produce conflict. As a Christians we must be kind and avoid conflict. Telling someone that they are a sinner or that they are going to hell will in many cases cause conflict that will not bring people closer to God. As Christians we must look for every opportunity to minister the Gospel, but avoid conflict. Christians should not be so aggressive in ministering the Gospel that it results in a punch in the face from the intended recipient of God's Word. The Gospel, God's truth, is made to be received – not trampled on, not rejected, and not hated by the people who need to receive the Word of God.
