Prideful Acts Cause Contention, Not Peace

Proverbs 13:10. Jesus loves us so much that He has given us peace for all that ask Him of it. Strife and contention does not come from God. All contention comes from pride (Proverbs 13:10, "Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom."). Prideful people are out of harmony with everyone around them. Prideful people are also out of harmony with God. Prideful people also cause contention within themselves because they will always want more and cannot satisfy themselves. Only through having a relationship with God can we have true peace and not strife. Jesus gives peace to all that follow Him (John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.").
