About Freedom – God Tells Us To Submit To Government
Romans 13:1. All of us are concerned about our freedom and rights, but we still need to submit to the power of the Government here on Earth. We may not always agree with our Government, but God has ordained Governments to have power and authority over its citizens. If we unlawfully resist a Government that we think is wrong, we are actually resisting God. (Romans 13:1-2, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation”). When it comes to human Government, we need to follow Jesus and His disciples’ example as in their relationships with the Jewish and Roman leadership. Jesus and the disciples were subjected to the higher powers of human Government, but they prevailed in Truth and changed the world.
ROMANS 13 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Romans 13:1, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”
