1 Timothy 6:5. Many of us to include Christians can caught up in worldly goods and worldly knowledge and think it is a form of Godliness.(2 Timothy 3:5). First, godliness is about truth and not about worldly knowledge. Godliness is about speaking God's truth and not about winning arguments. There are many smart people in the world, but many of them are far from godliness. Also, godliness is about spiritual things and not about Earthly trappings. God may have blessed us with wealth. We may give to the poor and pay tithes, but that does not make us godly. We cannot buy godliness.

Luke 21:19. The Bible has a lot to say about patience. Patience is a lot more than just a nice-to-have virtue. It is essential to your salvation. Once you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, patience (long-suffering) becomes one of the fruits (fruit of the Spirit – Galatians 5:22) of your salvation and a necessary virtue to obtain the ultimate prize, eternal life. Yes, salvation is a free gift offered to everyone. All we need to do is accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Accepting Jesus as our Savior takes no patience from us.

1 Corinthians 9:25. Christians have a higher inspiration to have self-control than a Olympic athlete. An Olympic athlete is inspired by the opportunity to win a gold medal. Many Olympic athletes train for the Olympics for years and they have great self-control and discipline. On the other hand, Christians have a greater inspiration to obtain and maintain self-control and not to sin.

Deuteronomy 29:29. Secret knowledge is the providence of God. Organizations that profess to have secret knowledge or truth do not line up with the world of God. God is the source of all knowledge, both revealed knowledge and secret knowledge. When God reveals secret knowledge to a person or group of people, this truth is suppose to be revealed to all of mankind. This is what happened in the Old Testament. God would reveal secret knowledge to a prophet and it was the prophet's purpose to reveal this truth to everyone.

Hebrews 11:2. The only way to be justified with God (to be in good standing with Him) is through faith. Faith is how the prophets and elders in the Bible obtained a good report with God (Hebrews 11:2, “For by it the elders obtained a good report”). “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice...” (Hebrews 11;4). “By faith Enoch ... should not see death” (Hebrews 1:5). “By faith Noah ... prepared an ark...” (Hebrews 11:7). “By faith Abraham ...sojourned in the land of promise..." (Hebrews 11:8-9).

Luke 15:24. From a Christian perspective there is only one way to happiness and that is through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way for us to be reconciled back to God and to have true joy. With happiness we are all like the prodigal son where we will try many ways to reach happiness. For us who are Christians, at some point we will realize that we need salvation and that we need to establish a relationship with our Father, our God.

1 Thessalonians 2:13. If you love the truth of God's word, you will delight in it. As you love the truth more and more, you will gain in faith and assurance of your salvation. The word of God will start to work within you as your love of the truth grows.

Job 27:8. Another aspect of the definition of deception is that it is only temporary. A deception is only a deception until it is found out. It is temporary. On the other hand, truth is eternal. Many of us use deception to fool others as well as ourselves. Most of us put our hope in material things such as money, other people, or our own abilities. The promises of material things as well as actual material things are only temporary and are not eternal. We either fool ourselves or others when we put our hope in material things, imagined or not.

Proverbs 13:11. Scams involve a proposal or bargain with an evil purpose. A good bargain or proposal is a deal that provides value for both parties. If either party has an evil purpose, it is a scam where at least one of the parties will be scammed. At least one party is calling evil good in a scam. Flee from situations where no value is being exchanged by either party.

Mark 11:24. When we trust in Jesus, we can have the desires of our heart. All we have to do is pray for what we desire, believe that we will receive in accordance with God's promises, and we shall have the desires of our heart (Mark 11:24, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them").This is a blessing of believing. It is important to understand that your heart is changed when you have accepted Jesus into your heart.
