The Apostles’ Creed With List of Bible Scripture References

The Apostles’ Creed. The Apostles’ Creed is rooted in the early church. It did not reach its final form until the 7th century in France. At its essence the Apostles’ Creed is a distillation of the essentials of Christian faith as expressed in the Bible. Through the years the Apostles’ Creed has aided in providing a clear understanding of what Christianity is and what it is not. It is an aid to help recognize inadequate or incomplete versions of Christianity. Christians do differ on different points of doctrine, but the Apostles’ Creed is generally accepted across Christian denominations as the key fundamentals of the Christian faith. The Apostles’ Creed is used in many Christian denominations to include Catholic Church, Lutheranism, Anglicanism, Western Orthodoxy, Presbyterians, Methodists, and Congregationalists.
