Genesis 3:8. Adam and Eve were not alone in the garden of Eden. They were with God. God not only visited them on a regular basis, but he walked with them in the garden of Eden.

HIDING FROM GOD WILL NOT OVERCOME GUILT

Proverbs 14:16. Many a fool thinks he is wise. Instead of seeking wisdom from God, a fool follows his heart that cannot discern truth from lies nor good from evil. A fool who thinks himself wise has no moral compass. Without God, good and and evil becomes relative. The wisdom of the day becomes “if it feels good do it”.

2 Timothy 2:16. Sanctification, to be set aside for God's use, requires us to be purged of many things. One of those things is to avoid profane language and avoid idle chatter.

Genesis 3:10. Guilt can be a heavy burden, but there is a right way and a wrong way to overcome guilt. Humans have experienced guilt since the Garden of Eden. The way that Adam and Eve tried to address their guilt is an example of a wrong way to overcome guilt. Adam and Eve experience guilt because they had disobeyed God by eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge.

Bible Summary. The devil, nor anyone else or anything, forces us to make these bad choices and yield to temptation. Sin is our choice. Temptation is something that we know is wrong, but our flesh wants to do it anyway. Through obedience to God and seeking His truth, we can overcome temptation. Temptation is not something to play with, but to flee.

Genesis 39:12. Joseph of the Bible ended up overcoming temptation by fleeing from it. He had become a servant of Potiphar, Pharaoh's captain of the guard. Joseph did well and prospered in the house of Potiphar. This was until Potiphar's wife became to have eyes for Joseph.

Exodus 3:11. At the burning bush, Moses gave God many excuses for not fulfilling his calling. His first excuse was that he was not qualified. To God, there is no good excuse for not fulfilling the calling that God has put on our lives. We can say “I am not ready; I am unworthy, I do not want to do it, I can't do it, and so on”. None of these excuses matter to God.

Summary. It is part of our human nature to come up with a good excuse when we are accused of something. Whenever we stray from God's purpose in our lives, most of us can come up with a good excuse to justify our actions. God, our creator, has a purpose for all of us. Instead of us answering God's call, we will give what we think are good excuses to not fulfill our calling.
