God Will Not Put Up With Selfish Behavior

Psalms 101:4. If you display selfish behavior with God or your neighbor, God will not put up with you for very long. Because God is a righteous God, He cannot be in the presence of the proud. The proud place more honor on themselves than God. God counts this type of person as wicked and He will not know him. Neither will God put up with a proud person that slanders his neighbor.

Insatiable Desire Brings Discontent and Sorrows

1 Timothy 6:10. Without God in your life, it is natural to think that if you have more money, you will be more happy. The truth is that many people that have money are unsatisfied. This is because they are denying God, their true source of joy. In their continual denial of God, people will acquire an unquenchable and insatiable desire for money and possessions.

The Bad Choice Of Sin Brings Death

James 1:15. Cain made a lot of bad choices in being disobedience to God and hating his brother. Having the sin nature of his father Adam, Cain's tendency was to be disobedient to God. This was evident by the unworthy offering he brought to God, his refusal to obey God's counsel, and his hatred of his brother that resulted in Abel's death.
