Christian belief gives us the power to withstand the sin and death that is in this world. The power of belief is not based on anything that we have done. It is what we know. It is that we know Jesus Christ defeated death when He resurrected from the dead and lives forever ( Philippians 3:10, "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;"). It is us believing in the power of His resurrection that defeats death and sin in our lives that gives our Christian faith such marvelous power.

If we rely only on our own wisdom we have no power over sin and death in this world. We must put our faith in the power of God only (1 Corinthians 2:5, "That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God"). Our faith in our own skills, our own wisdom, and the wisdom of others is nothing. Our faith can only be based on the power of God. He is the only one that can provide for us and offer eternal life.

Our ultimate salvation of eternal life can only come through the power of God. Our Christian belief must be totally based on the power of God in order to receive eternal life (1 Peter 1:5, "Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time"). If we rely on the things that we sense with our five senses, we are lost. We must rely on the power of God that is revealed to us through the Bible and His son, Jesus Christ. Only the power of God defeats the power of sin and death. Only through our Christian belief in the power of God can we receive the victory that defeats the power of sin and death.
