Quotes & Art: Faith
Christians Believe That Only Jesus Can Save Them.
The central Christian belief is that we believe in Jesus Christ. As Christians we believe that as a sinner and imperfect person we are separated from God and only through Jesus can we be saved from eternal death and be reconciled back to God. Romans 10:13 tells us that who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Christians Believe And Repent.
Repentance is a key belief of Christians. We must repent and acknowledge to God that we can only be purged of our sins by accepting Jesus Christ’s salvation. Matthew 21:32 tells us to believe and repent.
Matthew 21:32, “For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.”
Christians Believe That There Is Eternal Life.
God has given the gift of eternal life to all believers. He has given this gift to us because He loves us and wants us to be with Him always. Romans 6:23 tells us that the gift of eternal life is through Jesus Christ.
Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Christians Believe In Divine Power.
God is a supernatural God. Many of us such as Thomas, the doubting disciple, must have much evidence of God’s divine power. John 20:25 tells us of Thomas believing only if he saw the evidence of Jesus’ define power.
John 20:25, “The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
Christians Believe Versus Fear.
We tend to fear things that we cannot control or that are outside our five senses. For Christians we may fear God, but we believe in His promises and are not afraid. Mark 5:36 tells us to be not afraid, but believe.
Mark 5:36, “As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.”
Christians Believe More Than That There Is Just A God.
Believing in one God does not make us a Christian. It is only one of the first steps. The Devil believes there is one God as well. James 2:19 tell us that there is more to Christianity than just believing in God.
James 2:19, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble”
