Definition of Perfection - Only God is Perfect
The definition of perfection includes "Being without defect or blemish: a perfect specimen". This definition of perfection defines God as well as Jesus who as a God-man walked on this Earth to show us His perfection. God is our Rock that provides us the perfect foundation of what is right and wrong. He is the standard of perfection and the source of truth and righteousness (Deuteronomy 32:4, "He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he").
The Salvation That Jesus Offers Us
When talking about how someone could go to Heaven and avoid Hell, someone asked Jesus how they could be saved. Jesus said, "...With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible" (Mark 10:24). This is why Jesus, the God-man, came on this Earth to save all of us from damnation, eternal separation from God. This is why Jesus is the one way to Heaven and the only path in our lives that does not lead to Hell. For more commentary on Jesus' path of salvation see links below.
God's Divine Nature Is Love
Another side of God’s divine nature is that He is a God of love. "God is love" (1 John 4:8). This love is an "agape" love, an unmerited favor toward someone. God has “agape” love for all of us, for all of mankind. He loves us and desires to provide for us (Psalms 145:16, “Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing”). Even with us falling so short of His glory because of our sin nature, He still loves us. For us to reconcile back to Him, reconcile both to His righteousness and His love, He has given us grace and mercy.
God's Divine Nature Is Righteous
God is the source of all good and truth in the world. He is right, He is righteous. All righteousness comes from him. The Bible is His message and tells us of righteousness from God's perspective. Because of God's divine nature, He can be nothing but righteous. By His nature, everything around Him must be righteous. Because of God's divine nature, He cannot be in relationship with the unrighteousness. He is full of righteousness. Because of His divine nature, He can only do things in truth (Psalms 33:4-5, "For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
Discovering God’s Divine Nature
God’s nature can be summed up in two words: love and righteousness. As followers of Jesus, we are here to discover God's love and righteousness. We discover God through prayer, fasting, study, and living a life in fellowship with God. Through us seeking God continuously, His righteousness and love is made perfect in us.
Discover God, Not Define Him
We cannot put God in a box, or pick and choose what attributes of God we want to acknowledge. We must discover God "In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (Colossians 2:3). If we discover the attributes of God and believe His promises, we can be the partakers of His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4, "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust").
God's Awesome Mysteries
God's divine nature is a complete mystery to most of us. Even people who have studied God’s nature for years will still refer to the mysteries of God. The primary reason that it is difficult to understand God's divine nature is that He is just so much larger than us. He is all knowing, all-powerful, and all present. He does not expect you to know everything about Him. He just wants your "acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ" (Colossians 2:2).
Biblical Creation Accounts For The Natural And Supernatural
God created us and the universe for His own purpose (Revelations 4:11, "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.") The actual creation process is a supernatural act. Evolution theory theorizes the natural selection process, but it does not account for the origin of matter, life, or our own soul.
The Existence of the Natural and Supernatural
Hebrews 11:3. The world we experience around us is more than what we sense with our five senses. The world consist of both the natural and supernatural. Both the natural and supernatural come from God. God is supernatural and the worlds (the natural) were created by the word of God. To deny the supernatural is to deny God (Hebrews 11:3, "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear". .
God Will Not Have a Relationship With Us Unless We Confess Sins
Hosea 5:15. Whether we know it or not, we are suppose to be in a loving relationship with God. When we are not, we have broken our relationship with Him. Our disobedience to God, our creator, is a sin. Sin started with Adam, our forefather, and continues with us today. Jesus is the answer for us to restore our relationship with God, but first we must confess our sins.
