What is the Difference Between Guilt and Shame?
Bible Summary. Guilt is godly sorrow that results in repentance and ultimately salvation. Shame on the other hand is where you may feel bad because it is not socially accepted or someone you respected has found you “wrong”.
Spread the Gospel Not to Shame People, But to Make them Aware of Their Guilt
1 Corinthians 4:14. Paul was harsh in his letters to the Corinthians church. This was not to shame them, but to warn them and to make them aware of their guilt in regard to their relationship with God (1 Corinthians 4:14, “I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you”). Many times the truth hurts.
The Difference Between Guilt and Shame
2 Corinthians 7:10. The Apostle Paul advises us on what the difference is between guilt and shame in his second letter to the Corinthians. In 2 Corinthians 7:9-10, Paul refers to the harshness of his first letter to the Corinthians where he had advised them that they needed to change their ways as Christians.

Isaiah 30:3. It is easy to think that love and trust go together, but the Bible teach us not to trust man or the things of this world. The only one we should both love and trust is God. We can love our fellow man, but we should only put our total trust and faith in God. When we put our faith and trust in someone or something above God, we are wrong.
A Mother’s Love is Sometimes a Hard Love
Proverbs 29:15. It is natural for a mother’s love to be forgiving and not judging. At the same time a mother’s love should not just accept anything that a son or daughter does as OK. A mother must provide correction to her children when they are wrong. She still loves them, but she does have a responsibility to nurture and reproof a child.
Nature vs Nurture Debate – Example of Vain Imagination Lacking the Knowledge of God
Romans 1:21. From a Christian perspective, the nature vs nurture debate is an example of useless imagination because both sides of the debate omit any knowledge of God. On one side of the debate, people will argue that people are born a certain way and they cannot change. On the other side of the debate, people will argue that a person's environment causes them to act a certain way.
