The Christian's Struggle of Conscience Between Good and Evil

Bible Summary. As a Christian matures a struggle persists between the desire to good and the evil that continues to be present in the flesh. The challenge for Christians is that the knowledge of good and evil does not save a person from sinful desires and consequences of sin. The challenge with acting on our conscience is our human nature is not perfect.

Romans 7:23. Most parents teach their children what is good, and what is evil. If you come from a Christian home or go to church, then your knowledge of good and evil more than likely is correct from God's perspective. We know not to commit adultery, not to lie, not to lust, and so on. The challenge is our human nature is not perfect. All us in some area of our lives desire to do evil.

Proverbs 15:1. All of us deal with anger every day. The question is do we deal with it in a way that is pleasing to God. When someone is shouting at us, do we attempt to drown out that shouting with our own shouting. When someone cuts in front of us while we are driving, do we then cut in front of them in anger. When someone gets angry with us, do we get angry with us.

Stop Anger By Not Thinking and Speaking Evil on Others

Ephesians 4:31. The Bible tells us that it is our responsibility to stop our anger when it is based on evil intentions. People have so many excuses for being angry. These excuses can include things like being threatened, being hurt, being frustrated, and so on. These may be valid excuses for being angry, but does your angry reaction line up with the Word of God?

How to Avoid Conflict

Bible Summary. The Bible provides a great examples of how to avoid conflict when dealing with friends and family. To avoid conflict with the people around us, we need to first address the source of the conflict that dwells in us. The best way to avoid conflict is to draw closer to God.

A Relationship With God Makes You Free Of Strife

Genesis 4 tells us the story of Cain and Abel. Abel was a keeper of sheep and Cain was a tiller of the ground. Abel brought the Lord an offering of fruit and Abel brought an offering of the firstlings of his flock. God was please with Abel, but not with Cain. God advised Cain to do good in the future, but Cain did not take God's advise.
