Fear TOPIC TAG (856) Biblical usage: fear only God, be not afraid, only believe. Dictionary Definition: 1. a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid. 2. a specific instance of or propensity for such a feeling: an abnormal fear of heights. 3. concern or anxiety; solicitude: a fear for someone's safety. 4. reverential awe, esp. toward God. 5. that which causes a feeling of being afraid; that of which a person is afraid: Cancer is a common fear.

What is Godly Fear?

Bible Summary. To have godly fear a person first has to have a relationship with God. Godly fear is an emotion that God wants us to have in our heart and it is an essential part of God’s salvation plan. Godly fear a precious, all-consuming emotion that enables us to have an eternal relationship with God. Godly fear is the evidence that we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Revelation 15:4. Godly fear comes to us when we come into relationship with God and His holiness is revealed to us. When we truly understand the godliness of God, we come into a new reality.
