Bible Summary. Fear nothing if you have God on your side. With God, there is no need for emotional distress. He is more awesome and powerful that any worry, fear, or person. When we are separated from God, we will let our imagination get away with us. We will focus on evil thoughts versus the good things of God. As a friend of God, we should not fear anything. God has made us wonderful promises that He has the power to fulfill in our lives. All we need to do is focus on God’s love in our lives and He will make us perfect where we have no need to fear. We only need to love and accept God’s favor on us. See below for more commentary and Biblical advice concerning fear.

Fear Only God. God is a jealous God.
If you are being fearful of things not of God, you are telling God that these things are more awesome and powerful than He is in protecting you. Fear nothing, but God. Matthews 10:28 tells us to fear God first above anything else.
Matthew 10:28, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Without God Our Imagination Produces Fear, Hate, Lust, and Evil.
Our imagination among other things allows fear, worry, phobias, and anxiety to rule our lives. It can be prudent to be fearful of snakes, dogs, or life-threatening situations, but we should not put this fear above God. Without a relationship with God our imagination is only “…evil continually”. Genesis 6:5 advises us that without God our imagination will lead us to evil that is not of God.
Genesis 6:5, “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”
Fear Nothing Because You Have God’s Promises.
When we have a relationship with God, we can rely on His promises. We can be strong and of good courage. We can fear nothing because God is with us, He will not fail us, nor forsake us. Deuteronomy 31:6 advises us to fear nothing because we have God’s promises.
Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

Fear Nothing and Be Perfect in God’s Love.
This perfect love is “agape” love and is defined as unmerited favor. This Godly love casts out the fear in our lives and leads the way for us to be spiritually perfect. If we truly love everyone and everything, fear cannot enter into our lives any more to torment us. 1st John 4:18 advises us to fear nothing and be perfect in God’s love.
1st John 4:18, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”
