You Must Ask to be Filled with the Holy Spirit.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit is central to the Christian experience. The filling of the Holy Spirit is an experience that you must seek and ask for. Luke 11:13 advises us that God desires to give us good gifts, just ask.

Luke 11:13, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”

You Must Believe to Be Filled With the Holy Spirit.

Everyone that has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior shall be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s power that fills all Christians is a gift from God. John 7:38 advises us that the power of the Holy Spirit is like a living water that flows out of us and enriches the world and people around us.

John 7:38, “He that believeth in me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

The Filling of Holy Spirit Comes Through Jesus.

You can only be filled by the Holy Spirit through having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Only He can give you the power of the Holy Spirit to do good works. John 20:22 describes Jesus filling His disciples the Holy Spirit.

John 20:22, “And when he had said this, he breathed on them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:”

A Born Again Christian is Filled With the Spirit.

When you are born again the spirit in you changes. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, God’s Holy Spirit fills you, changing your purpose and equipping you for righteousness. John 3:6 advises us that what is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 3:6, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit”
