How To Know God’s Will? Know What He Has Predestined

The Birth of Jesus and His Ministry Came About Only Through the Will of God

God predestined the birth of Jesus and his ministry to bring salvation to every one of us. To know and understand God’s will in our lives, we need to know God’s will concerning Jesus and his ministry. John 1:13 advises us that Jesus was born not of the will of man, but of God.

John 1:13, “Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

God’s Will Has Predestined Us to Conform to the Image of his Son

We must understand that God has a plan for us that involves conforming to the image of his Son, Jesus Christ. This is God’s will and plan for our lives. For the elect, God has chosen us to be reconcile back to him through the salvation act of Jesus Christ. Romans 8:29 advise us that God foreknow and predestined us to conform to the image of his Son, Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:29, “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

God’s Will Has Predestined Us to be Adopted As Children Through Jesus Christ

We must understand that God has a plan for us to adopt us as children through Jesus Christ. Just as Jesus Christ is the Son of God, God’s plan is to adopt us as his children to include all the rights and privileges of being God’s children. Ephesians 1:5 advises us that God predestined us to become his adopted children through Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 1:5, “Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,”

God’s Will Has Predestined Us to Obtain and Eternal Inheritance

God’s will is for us to be blessed with an eternal inheritance due to us being his adopted children. God has always had a plan for our lives through the works of Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ we are God’s children. Ephesians 1:11 advises us of the inheritance that God has predestined for us through the works of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 1:11, “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:”
