Tabitha – Devoted to Good Works
Your Good Works Exemplify God.
Our light shines out to all men in the form of our good works. By us showing our love through good works to our fellow man, we exemplify and glorify God. Matthew 5:16 advises us to let our light shine before men for them to see our good works and glorify God.
Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Good Works Demonstrates That You Are Of God To Others.
As a Christian our life style should be an example of God’s truth and put non-Christians on notice that there is a better life than a life full of sin and shame. Our life style of good works is a ministry to non-Christians. Titus 2:7 advises us to show a pattern of good works.
Titus 2:7, “In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,”
Definition of Perfection – Through Faith and Good Works We Can Be Made Perfect.
The definition of perfection includes “Completely suited for a particular purpose – accurately reproducing an original”. This is how God desires for us to be perfect. He desires for us to exercise our faith in his promises by doing good works to become like Him. James 2:22 tells us that faith is embodied in good works and through these works faith is made perfect.
James 2:22, “Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?”
Refraining From Sin and Being Good is Good Works in Itself
Good works is also refraining from sin. Jesus walked on this Earth and did not sin. His example of a sinless life proves and inspires us that we do not have to sin. 1st Corinthians 6:19 advises that our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and we are not our own.
1st Corinthians 6:19, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”
