Goodness
How to Add Value, A Christian Perspective
Ephesians 4:28. The Bible teaches us how to add value in any situation. We add value by working on things that are good (Ephesians 4:28, “... but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.” the word “good” has many definitions to include: morally excellent, high quality, right, proper, worthy, genuine, and so on. All of these definitions do well in describes the excellence of the things that should be the output of our labor.
Christian Virtues Are To Be Meditated On Continually To Assure Self-Control
Philippians 4:8. A person having Christian Virtues must meditate on these virtues and practice these virtues every day in order to maintain self-control. Philippians 4:8 say to think on “... whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; ...”. By us meditating on Christian virtues we will start practicing them. If we meditate on God's truth in the Bible, we will start acting on His truths.
Christian Virtues – Called To Godly Excellence
2 Peter 1:3. God calls all of us to have Christian virtues. Whether you know it or not, God has called all of us to glory and virtue. Christian virtues can be described as having a godly excellence, a godly goodness, or a godly righteousness. God's calling came to us through Jesus Christ. If we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, God will provide us all that we need in this world and in Heaven. He has the divine power to give us all thing that pertain unto life and godliness.
Justification by Faith – The Only Way To God
Hebrews 11:2. The only way to be justified with God (to be in good standing with Him) is through faith. Faith is how the prophets and elders in the Bible obtained a good report with God (Hebrews 11:2, “For by it the elders obtained a good report”). “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice...” (Hebrews 11;4). “By faith Enoch ... should not see death” (Hebrews 1:5). “By faith Noah ... prepared an ark...” (Hebrews 11:7). “By faith Abraham ...sojourned in the land of promise..." (Hebrews 11:8-9).
God Rewards the Industrious
Matthew 25:21. Jesus’ story of the five golden talents illustrates how we should be industrious with the talents that God provides us. In the parable, the lord provided each of his servants a certain number of golden talents. It was not said, but it was known by all of his servants that the lord expected them to increase his golden talents while he was gone.
God's Divine Nature Is Righteous
Psalms 33:5. God is the source of all good and truth in the world. He is right in all things. He is righteous. All righteousness comes from him. The Bible is His message and it tells us of God's righteousness. Because of God's divine nature, He can only be righteous. Because of His righteous nature, He can only love righteousness. Because of God's divine nature, He can only do things in truth and righteousness (Psalms 33:4-5, "For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
Alms Giving is an Act of Good Works That Illuminates You Love of God and People
Acts 9:34. Christians should be known for their good works and alms giving just as Jesus is known for his good works. Our Christian reputation should not be motivated by pride, but our good works should illuminate to a sinful world God’s truth and goodness. Doing a good work is one of the best ways to get a sinner’s attention and to demonstrate that there is a more joyous way to live (Acts 9:36, “Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did”).
Redemption Definition – In The Beginning
Genesis 1:31. To understand the redemption definition, we must understand that at one time we were in fellowship with God. We were not separated from God. There was no need for redemption. There was no ransom that needed to be paid. A long time ago nothing and nobody needed to be reconciled back to God. Everything on the Earth was in fellowship with God. This included animals, the fish, the birds, the land, and even mankind. God called His creation good. In fact He called it very good (Genesis 1:31, "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
Parents Provide Good Things; God Does Better
Matthew 7:11. Most of us know that our parents will always strive to provide us with good things. God who is perfect and never lies can do so much better in providing us good things. The best gift He provided us was the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ's crucifixion and ultimate resurrection. God will provide good things if we trust in Him. There is no good reason for us to doubt God, and ask ourselves why do we lack. We must believe in God's promises and be obedient.
Why Do We Lack If God Promises To Not Withhold Any Good Thing
Psalms 84:11. As a shepherd, God is the giver of grace and glory to His good sheep. If we are His good and faithful sheep, we will not go lacking. All God asks is that we have faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior If we doubt the truth of Jesus or try to do things on our own without God, we will go lacking. We must truly believe in our heart that God will provide for all of our needs. He is our provider and protector.
