Mark 16:4. A passion for Christ comes from knowing in your heart that Jesus defeated death and is alive today forever. Coming into the reality that Jesus (God in the flesh) defeated death on the cross and was resurrected is the essence of having a passion for Christ.

Acts 2:37. A passion for Jesus only overtakes us when we have an extraordinary encounter with Him. Jesus and His resurrection must be experience to be believed. A passion for Jesus only occurs when He touches our heart and pierces it with His truth, His goodness, His love, and His grace.

Ezekiel 16:49. The Bible tells us that prideful people are lazy people. In Ezekiel 16:49, God says, “Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.” Here God is talking about the city of Sodom.

Luke 6:38. The Bible teaches us that by us unselfishly giving to others it will result in creating success for ourselves. Many people do not get this because they are shortsighted and thinking selfishly. A more long-term view is to think of giving as a way to add value and increase to the world around you. Eventually that increase will come back to you.

Proverbs 21:26. The U.S. news media labels most people as “consumers”. It is commonly accepted that we live in a consumer society. In a consumer society, most economic solutions to improve the standard of living are focused on how we can increase our consumption rate.

Acts 20:35. God loves to help the weak. A weak person says help me God, and He helps them. God desires to have people acknowledge their weakness and realize the God is their only salvation. On the other hand when we are strong in the Lord, God wants us to help people that are physically and spiritually weak.

Hebrews 10:24. Have you ever been the recipient of a good deed? Maybe your car broke down on the side of the road, and a stranger stopped and helped you. Didn't unselfish acts like this stir you up to do good? Did you not have a desire to help someone out when their car broken down on the side of the road?

2 Corinthians 8:14. God desires for all of us to live in abundance, but not to squander our wealth and resources. God has given the world abundant resources to satisfy everyone's needs. When we are in a situation where we have more than we need, He desires for us to help out others.
