Examples of Human Weakness and Falling Into Temptation

Bible Summary. There are many examples of human weakness. David gives us an example of human weakness when he temporary lost his purpose that led him to adultery with Bathsheba and eventually murder of her husband. Wealth can be a human weakness if we let it control us. Another example of human weakness is our physical weakness. We may have good intentions to do something, but our body will give up on us. When we lust and are controlled by material things, we become moral weaklings that have no eternal security, no purpose, and no foundation for good living. Examples of Human Weakness: Not Fulfilling Your Purpose.

David gives us an example of human weakness that led him to adultery with Bathsheba and eventually murder of her husband. David's weakness that led to these sins was that that he was not fulfilling God's purpose.

See Scripture Commentary: 2 Samuel 11:1 tells us how David tarried in Jerusalem when he as king should have been in battle with his army.

Examples of Human Weakness: The Obsession of Wealth and Abundance.

Letting money and wealth control us is an example of human weakness. Wealth in itself is not bad. It is how we think about it and what we do with it.

See Scripture Commentary: 1 Timothy 6:9 advises us that if we let wealth control us, it will quickly lead us from temptation, to sin, to foolishness.

Examples of Human Weakness: Our Flesh is Weak.

One example of human weakness is our physical weakness. We may have good intentions to do something, but our body will give up on us. This is what happened to Peter, James, and John in the garden of Gethsemane.

See Scripture Commentary: In Mark 14:38 Jesus told his disciples the first of three time to keep watch for Him and not be tempted by the weakness of their flesh and fall asleep.

Examples of Human Weakness: Our Lust.

The prime example of human weakness is the lust that is inside ourselves. When we lust, we have lost our moral fortitude. When we lust and are controlled by material things, we become moral weaklings that have no eternal security, no purpose, and no foundation for good living.

See Scripture Commentary: James 1:14 advises that every person is tempted and can easily be enticed by their own lusts.
