Ignorance
Without Truth Of God You Will Lack
Bible Summary. If you only do things based on your own likes and dislikes, you are not abiding in God's truth and you are separated from God. This is why many of us lack. It is because we are going it alone without the guidance and truth of God. Even if we know we cannot satisfy ourselves, we will turn to others versus seeking God's truth in the manner.
What the Bible Says When You Lack Diligence in Your Faith
Matthew 25:12, The Bible's Parable of the Ten Virgins warns us of the dangers of not being diligent in our faith. In the parable, the virgins had the responsibility of greeting and lighting the way for the bridegroom when he arrived at night. Five of the virgins were wise because they were diligent in bringing extra oil to keep their lamps lit.
Overcoming Temptation Through Obedience and Truth
1 Peter 1:14: The Bible tells us that we can overcome temptation by being obedient to God (1 Peter 1:14, “As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance”). Temptation is something that we know is wrong, but our flesh wants to do it anyway. Temptation usually comes in the form of material things such as money, food, sex, and so on.
Why Do We Ask The Question, Is There A God?
Bible Summary. Our sin nature continues to ask the question, "is there a God", because we desire to do things our way and not God's way. Because of our pride, our lusts, and our ignorance we deny God so that we can decide what is right and wrong. Denying God is a fruitless course of action.
Is There A God If We Do Not Know Him?
John 1:10. Just because we do not know God does not mean He does not exist. It is easy to believe the world is round or that our world revolves around the sun. We believe it because scientists have been able to measure and observe the Earth. With God, He is outside our five senses. He operates outside of our natural realm. We cannot know Him like we know material objects.
Definition Of Greed - Never Satisfied
Isaiah 56:11. Another key component of the definition of greed is that you are never satisfied with what you accumulate. The sin nature in all of us craves for more and more. If we have two cars, we want three. If we own a house, we want to own another one. If we have a wife, we want a mistress.
Coping With Adultery – They Do Not Know What They Do
Proverbs 6:32. One thing for you to remember when coping with adultery, is to realize that the adulterous marriage partner does not understand the full consequences of their actions. If they did, they would not have been tempted to commit adultery. An adulterer may not fully understand that his or her actions may very well destroy a marriage and family.
