Why Do We Ask The Question, Is There A God?

Bible Summary. Our sin nature continues to ask the question, “is there a God”, because we desire to do things our way and not God’s way. Because of our pride, our lusts, and our ignorance we deny God so that we can decide what is right and wrong. Denying God is a fruitless course of action. There is too much evidence in the world, to include the actual creation of world, to deny and ask “is there a God”. Just because we do not know God does not mean He does not exist. See below for more commentary and Biblical advice on the question, “is there a God”.

Is There A God?

God has shown us through His Creation and through Jesus Christ, His son, that God is God. Through our pride and ignorance we deny God so that we can decide what is right and wrong. Deuteronomy 4:35 advises us that God does exist.

Deuteronomy 4:35, “Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.”

Is There A God If We Do Not Know Him?

Just because we do not know God does not mean He does not exist. It is easy to believe the world is round or that our world revolves around the sun. We believe it because scientists have been able to measure and observe the Earth. With God, He is outside our five senses. He operates outside of our natural realm. We cannot know Him like we know material objects. John 1:10 advises us that God has revealed Himself to mankind, but we have chose to not know Him.

John 1:10, “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.”

Is There A God If We Deny Him?

Many people by their words and actions deny that there is a God. Denying God is a fruitless course of action. There is too much evidence in the world, to include the actual creation of world, to deny and ask is there a God. Romans 1:20 advises that God is real and we are without excuse in denying His existence.

Romans 1:20, “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”

Is There A God If We Define What Is Right And Wrong?

Our sin nature continues to ask the question, “is there a God”, because we want to be disobedient to God. We desire to be wise and define what is right and wrong. We desire to worship our own wisdom and turn God’s truth into a lie. Romans 1:25 advises that many people worship themselves, the creature, versus God, their Creator.”

Romans 1:25, “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”
