Bible Summary. The Bible tells us that God is the source of all knowledge. Mankind does acquire knowledge, and mankind’s accumulated knowledge is not the source of all knowledge. God is the source of all knowledge. By seeking God (the knowledge of God) mankind is able to discover God’s truth. God’s truth is much better and much greater than all of mankind’s acquired knowledge. Jesus Christ came on this Earth to give us knowledge and to reveal God’s salvation plan for us. God’s salvation plan is a great mystery to those that think man’s accumulative knowledge is superior to the knowledge of God. The knowledge of God is our true strength and our salvation. See below for Biblical advice and scriptures on the knowledge of God.
The Tree of Knowledge
Knowledge of God is Better Than Wisdom or Money.
Studying the accumulative knowledge of man will bring you wisdom, but it is only a worldly wisdom that is of use in this world. This wisdom will not prepare you for spiritual things of life (supernatural things outside your five senses) and for the here-after. Money is much like worldly wisdom. It may provide for your natural needs, but money cannot get you into Heaven. Ecclesiastes 7;12 advises us on the superiority of following God’s wisdom.
Ecclesiastes 7:12, “For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.”
Jesus Christ Shining Into Our Heart.
Just as God commanded the light to shine out of the darkness when He created the world; and now God has sent His son as the light of knowledge to the world. Jesus came on this Earth to shine the light of the knowledge of the glory of God into our hearts. This knowledge, this mystery, is our salvation plan for eternal life. 2nd Corinthians 4:6 advises us that Jesus is light of knowledge that can shine into our dark hearts.
2nd Corinthians 4:6, “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
Discover God to Gain Knowledge of Him.
Do Not Define God. We cannot put God in a box, or pick and choose what attributes of God we want to acknowledge. We must discover God “In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge”. Colossians 2:3 advise us that in God we will find all knowledge and wisdom.
Colossians 2:3, “In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Knowledge of God – Our Strength and Our Salvation.
The knowledge of God enable us to not be moved by our circumstances. The knowledge of God enables us to act the same way in good times and in times of strife. When we have the supernatural knowledge that God is our salvation we can draw strength from Him where others will despair. Isaiah 33:6 advises us that the knowledge of God is our strength and salvation.
Isaiah 33:6, “And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.”
