Lucifer, the Fallen Angel, Weakens and Deceives Mankind.
Lucifer, Satan, was once an angel who resided in heaven. He was a perfect being until sin was found in him. His sin was one of pride and selfishness. Isaiah 14:12 advises us that Lucifer fell from heaven and weakened nations through his sin.
Isaiah 14:12, “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!”
Lucifer Fell From Grace Because He Exalted Himself Above God.
Lucifer’s sin was pride where he exalted himself above God. He rebelled against God where he felt he did not need God. He felt that he had both the will and the power to do anything and be anything that he desired. He no longer needed God in his life. Isaiah 14:13 tells of Lucifer’s sins and his three “I Wills” against God.
Isaiah 14:13, “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:”
Lucifer Fell From Grace Because He Intended to Become a Rival of God.
Lucifer felt that he was perfect and did not need God. His stated intentions to be just like God was a sin, a mark of imperfection. His sin was that he was rebelling against God by imagining that he could be like God. He was no longer perfect because this rebellious sin was now found in him. Isaiah 14:14 tells more of Lucifer’s sins and his two most offensive “I Wills” against God.
Isaiah 14:14, “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”
Lucifer Fell From Grace Because Sin Was Found in Him.
The definition of perfection means “lacking nothing essential to the whole; complete of its nature or kind”. From a Christian perspective, the definition of perfection means being without sin. The Bible tells us that sin in its most basic form is being disobedient to God. Ezekiel 28:15 advises how Lucifer was perfect until sin was found in him.
Ezekiel 28:15, “Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.”
Lucifer Fell From Grace Because The Truth Was Not In Him.
The devil is a liar who fell from grace and uses his lies and trickery against mankind today. If we listen and are tempted by the devil’s lies, we will be defeated in spiritual warfare against him. John 8:44 advises us that the devil is the father of lies.
John 8:44, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
