Through Jesus the Good in Me Prevails Over My Fleshly Desires
By Ourselves Our Evil Desires Will Win Over Our Good Intentions
Romans 7:23. Most parents teach their children what is good, and what is evil. If you come from a Christian home or go to church, then your knowledge of good and evil more than likely is correct from God's perspective. We know not to commit adultery, not to lie, not to lust, and so on. The challenge is our human nature is not perfect. All us in some area of our lives desire to do evil.
As A Christian I Know To Do Good, But Evil is In Me
Romans 7:18. As a Christian matures a struggle persists between the desire to good and the evil that continues to be present in the flesh.
I am Carnal, a Slave to Sin
Romans 7:14. Our sin nature makes us a slave to sin. We are carnal. The Greek word for carnal is “sakinos” meaning fleshly, natural, human. As humans we all have a tendency to lean toward fleshly desires. Without a relationship with God, our Earthly passions are so strong that we come under control of our appetites and the influences of evil spirits. We are slaves to sin.
The Feeling of Being Inadequate Comes From Being of Wrong Purpose
Romans 7:5. You will continue to feel inadequate if you are not fulfilling your real purpose in life. God has called all of us for His purposes. If we rely on ourselves, we are of wrong purpose and will fall short of the glory of God. None of us are perfect, and without God in our lives we are inadequate. We are in sin.
The Old Man Is Dead, Long Live The New Man
How did Jesus change our relationship with God? Do I have a sin nature? How do I become a new man (or woman) in Christ? Why is it so important?
Sleep Needs Include Giving God the Time to Do a Work in You
Genesis 2:21. There are many needs for sleep. God has all of us sleep for a reason. One of the reasons is for Him to do a work in us. God can give us insight, visions, and directions why we are awake, but sometimes for Him to do something special in us He needs us to be asleep. This is a time when He can have our full attention and He can have complete control over our faculties.
How God Can Be the Passion For Our Lives
Colossians 3:2. Many of us have feelings of emptiness and have no passion for life. What is missing is that God is not in our lives. It is not that God does not love us that He is missing in our lives. God does love us and He created us for a purpose to have a relationship with Him.
Lazy People are Prideful People
Ezekiel 16:49. The Bible tells us that prideful people are lazy people. In Ezekiel 16:49, God says, “Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.” Here God is talking about the city of Sodom.
The Bible Tells Us to Try Every Spirit That Gives a Vision or Revelation
1 John 4:2. The Bible is very plain when it comes to giving us advice on determining the validity of visions and revelations. Not every prophet, proclaimer, sage, soothsayer, dream, vision, and so on are of God and are speaking the truth about the future. There is a simple test to determine if someone or a vision is of God or not.
Advice About Earthly Things

The Bible advices us that physical things like earth, fire, water, and air were created by God and not out of nothing. There is a responsible agent, namely God, that created the world.
Examples of Human Weakness and Falling Into Temptation
Bible Summary. There are many examples of human weakness. David gives us an example of human weakness when he temporary lost his purpose that led him to adultery with Bathsheba and eventually murder of her husband. Wealth can be a human weakness if we let it control us. Another example of human weakness is our physical weakness.
Examples of Human Weakness: Our Flesh is Weak.
Mark 14:38. One example of human weakness is our physical weakness. We may have good intentions to do something, but our body will give up on us. This is what happened to Peter, James, and John in the garden of Gethsemane. Jesus had commanded them to sit and watch for Him while He prayed. This was a dark hour for Jesus.
Accepting Personal Responsibility
Bible Summary. Not accepting personal responsibility for your sin, separates you from God. Accepting personal responsibility for our actions is a big thing to God. Once you know that you have sinned and are willing to accept personal responsibility for your sin, you need to follow through on your responsibility.
Creating Success By Being Good Stewards and Giving of Ourselves
2 Corinthians 8:15. Creating success will never happen if all we think about is ourselves. God wants us to be successful, but not at the expense of others. What he desires for us to do is do the best we can do with the resources that we are given. God's purpose for us is to bring increase in the world (be fruitful) and glorify God.
