Christians Have A Higher Inspiration to Have Self-Control
1 Corinthians 9:25. Christians have a higher inspiration to have self-control than a Olympic athlete. An Olympic athlete is inspired by the opportunity to win a gold medal. Many Olympic athletes train for the Olympics for years and they have great self-control and discipline. On the other hand, Christians have a greater inspiration to obtain and maintain self-control and not to sin.
Happiness Comes From Provoking Love In Others
Hebrews 10:24. For Christians happiness also comes from us stirring up fellow Christians to display agape love and good works. It is such a wondrous thing when we cause or lead someone else to love others unselfishly. What joy when we see people from the heart offer love to others with unmerited favor. This could be something as simple as encouraging others to just be nice to others or for someone repenting for displaying hate toward a particular ethnic group. Out of us provoking agape love within others we can gain even more joy as that agape love in others turns into good works.
Definition of Adultery – It is a Sin
2 Peter 2:14. The definition of adultery includes it being a sin in God’s eyes. Adultery is an unrighteous act. In no circumstances can it please God when you commit adultery. Adultery starts where you lust for someone that you are not married to. You are not pleasing to God when you are “girl watching” because this becomes a slippery slope that will lead to adultery. You are basically coveting someone else’s wife or daughter when you “girl watch”.
Christian Relationships Stir Up Love and Good Works In Others
Have you ever been the recipient of a good deed? Maybe your car broke down on the side of the road, and a stranger stopped and helped you. Didn't unselfish acts like this stir you up to do good? Did you not have a desire to help someone out when their car broken down on the side of the road? Good works like these grow and nurture Christian relationships. This is what makes a Christian relationship exciting, being able to stir good works up in others (Hebrews 10:24, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:”).
BIBLE SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 10:24, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:”
