The World Defined - Natural and Supernatural

The Existence of the Natural and Supernatural

Hebrews 11:3. The world we experience around us is more than what we sense with our five senses. The world consist of both the natural and supernatural. Both the natural and supernatural come from God. God is supernatural and the worlds (the natural) were created by the word of God. To deny the supernatural is to deny God (Hebrews 11:3, "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear". .

HEBREWS 11 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Hebrews 11:3 "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear."

The Evidence Of the Supernatural

The supernatural (the not seen) of this world is evident by miracles and unexplained phenomenon. Many miracles can be explained away, but much of it cannot. The actual creation of this world was a miracle not explained by natural phenomenon (the seen). Even for those that believe in evolution, they cannot provide a reasonable account of how life and matter got started. Evolution and the "Big Bang" theory have a supernatural, underlying assumption. That assumption being a supernatural, eternal power (God) who would have had to set off the "big bang". Only a supernatural power (God) could have created the original matter that was the source of the "big bang" and the start of evolution. God offers us in the Bible an explanation for the natural and supernatural which man-made doctrines do not account for. In the Bible, Jesus showed us the power of the supernatural through miracles and His temporal, physical body's defeat over death with His eternal resurrection (2 Corinthians 4:18, "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal". Besides miracles and the miracles of creation, the Bible tells us of other supernatural phenomenon to include God's power, the existence of demons, and angels.

2 CORINTHIANS BIBLE SCRIPTURE 2 Corinthians 4:18, "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."

Miracles - The Supernatural In The Natural World

The natural and supernatural both exist in our lives. We cannot deny it. It is important to see the supernatural that is in our lives. If we deceive ourselves that there is no supernatural power, we are basically denying that there is a God. God puts miracles in our lives to manifest His glory and to reinforce our faith (John 2:11, "This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him"). God is all powerful, but He is not the only one that performs signs and wonders (Matthews 24:24, "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders...). Though the ungodly can have supernatural power, Christian have a stronger power. Christians have natural and supernatural powers that comes from receiving the Holy Ghost (Acts 1:8, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you...). This supernatural power is more powerful than sin, death, and ungodly influences in our lives. The Bible provides the answers concerning miracles and supernatural phenomenon. Most scientific or popular theories do not address both the natural and supernatural phenomenon that are present in our lives. Many people do not want to acknowledge that miracles occur because they would then have to accept the miracles of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:16, "Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it"). ACTS 4 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Acts 4:16, "Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it."

Angels - The Natural and the Supernatural

Hebrews 1:14. Throughout the Bible many, many people witnessed angels. The literal definition of an angel means messenger, a messenger of God. God made angels for this purpose. Angels are different from humans. They are "ministering spirits (Hebrews 1:14,"Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?". They can sin and be destined for Hell. Hell is the only destination for the Devil and his angels [(demons) (2 Peter 2:4, "For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;") (Matthew 25:41, "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:")]. Other things different about angels is that they do not suffer a natural death (Luke 20:36, "Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.") nor do they enter marriage (Matthew 22:30, "For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.").

Biblical Creation Accounts For The Natural And Supernatural

God created us and the universe for His own purpose (Revelations 4:11, "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.") The actual creation process is a supernatural act. Evolution theory theorizes the natural selection process, but it does not account for the origin of matter, life, or our own soul. The Bible tells us about these supernatural things and how our own soul was created out of the dust of the ground and the breathe of God (Genesis 2:7, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul"). Evolution theory does not account for the supernatural acts of creation and because of that evolution theory denies the existence of God, the ultimate supernatural being.
