The World Defined – Natural and Supernatural

Bible Summary. The world consists of both the natural and supernatural, the material and the spiritual. The Bible provides a full explanation of natural and supernatural phenomenon that cannot be adequately explained by man-made doctrines. Leading scientific doctrines address what can be perceive with our five natural senses, but omits or attempts to disprove supernatural phenomenon. Fully adhering to many of these theories that deny the supernatural amounts to denying God’s existence because He is a supernatural being. We cannot deny the supernatural and at the same time say we believe in God. God provides ample evidence that He and supernatural things exist outside our five senses. The scriptures and commentary below provide answers that prove that God exists, that angels exist, that miracles occur, and that supernatural things exist and are more important than the material things in our lives.

The Existence of the Natural and Supernatural.

There is more to the world than what we can perceive with our five senses. The natural world was formed by a supernatural God. Through faith we perceive spiritual things that are outside our five senses. Hebrews 11:3 advises us that the natural world was created by a supernatural God.

Hebrwes 11:3, “By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.”

The Evidence of the Supernatural.

Miracles and unexplained phenomenon are evidence of the supernatural. The creation of this world was a miracle not explained by natural phenomenon. The Bible offers us an explanation for the natural and supernatural which man-made doctrines do not account for. 2nd Corinthians 4:18 advises that natural things are temporary and supernatural things are eternal.

2nd Corinthians 4:18, “as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Miracles – The Supernatural In The Natural World.

The natural and supernatural both exist in our lives. We cannot deny it (Acts 4:16). God is supernatural. If we deny the supernatural, we deny the existence of God. The Bible provides the answers concerning miracles and supernatural phenomenon. God puts miracles in our lives to manifest His glory and to reinforce our faith. Acts 4:16 advises us that some miracles cannot be denied.

Acts 4:16, “saying, “What shall we do with these men? For that a notable sign has been performed through them is evident to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.”

Angels Explained.

Angels are ministering spirits, supernatural beings, that are here for God’s purpose. The Bible explains their history, their purpose, and their nature. A human does not become an angel, nor are angels human. Hebrews 1:14 advises us on the nature of angels.

Hebrews 1:14, “Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?”

Biblical Creation Explains the Order of Natural And Supernatural Things.

The Bible tells us that God created the universe for His own purpose. Another way to say this is that God, a supernatural being, created the natural world for His own purpose. It is easy to get caught up in cares of the natural world, but spiritual things are of greater significance and provide real meaning in our lives. Revelation 4:11 advises us on why God created the natural world.

Revelation 4:11, “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
