Why Christ Suffered for Our Sins

Bible Summary. The Bible is clear that Jesus Christ suffered for our sins so that we may be healed. God let Christ suffer for our sins because he loves and desires to save us from the destructive consequences of our sin. Christ suffered to be our sin offering so that mankind could be redeemed. This is God’s salvation plan for mankind.

Christ Suffered to Justify Us Before God

Isaiah 53:11. Christ suffered as a consequent of mankind’s sin in order that mankind could be justified before God. God loves us, but at the same time all of us fall short of the glory of God and are guilty of sin. We all deserve to bear the grievous consequences of sin. Sin is outright rebellion against God and it results in severe consequences.

Christ Suffered For Our Sins So That We May be Healed

Isaiah 53:5. The Bible is clear that Jesus Christ suffered for our sins so that we may be healed. Isaiah foretold of Jesus taking on the punishment that was due as a result of mankind’s sins.
