Devotional: Every Man Shall Receive His Own Reward
Submitted by Randy on Sat, 2013-01-12 13:41God has a plan that guarantees work success. This is a master plan designed by God. Whether we know it or not God desires for all us to participate in His plan, His purpose.
Christ Suffered to Justify Us Before God
Isaiah 53:11. Christ suffered as a consequent of mankind’s sin in order that mankind could be justified before God. God loves us, but at the same time all of us fall short of the glory of God and are guilty of sin. We all deserve to bear the grievous consequences of sin. Sin is outright rebellion against God and it results in severe consequences.
Biblical Principle for Businesses: Be Honest in All Business Dealings
Romans 12:17. Another Biblical principle for businesses is to be honest in all business dealings. Honesty in business means no false advertising. It means selling products and services that provide value to the customer. A business should never knowingly sell inferior goods or services that may harm the customer.
Bible and Finances: Financial Transactions Should Benefit Both Parties
Leviticus 25:14. The Bible tells us that we must be fair in our financial dealings with others. A buyer should not try to cheat a seller, and a seller should not try to cheat a buyer (Leviticus 25:14, “And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour’s hand, ye shall not oppress one another:”).
Consequence of Unforgiveness: Vengeance Results in Rebellion Against God
Romans 12:19. A consequence of having unforgiveness in our heart is that we are in rebellion against God. God is the ultimate judge. When we fail to forgive a person and hold a grudge against someone, we are judging our fellow man. This is rebellion against God because we are up surging his authority.
I am Carnal, a Slave to Sin
Romans 7:14. Our sin nature makes us a slave to sin. We are carnal. The Greek word for carnal is “sakinos” meaning fleshly, natural, human. As humans we all have a tendency to lean toward fleshly desires. Without a relationship with God, our Earthly passions are so strong that we come under control of our appetites and the influences of evil spirits. We are slaves to sin.
What the Bible Says About Perseverance Without Preparation
Matthew 25:10. The Bible tells us that perseverance and preparation go together. In the Parable of the Ten Virgins both the foolish and wise virgin persevered in their calling, but only the wise virgins succeeded. The ten virgins were to use their lamps to greet and light the way for the bridegroom who was to arrive for his wedding that night.
How to Add Value – Do Not Misapply the Golden Rule
Proverbs 24:29. The Bible tells us how to add value in any situation by following the Golden Rule (Luke 6:31, "And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise"). This means at work employees should treat bosses as they would desire to be treated and visa versa. What we need to watch out after is that we do not misapply the Golden Rule.
Holy Spirit In Us and Godly Relationships - Definition Of Human Nature
Galatians 6:8. From a Christian perspective the definition of human nature cannot be explained adequately without explaining the human nature that is in right relationship with God. Our human nature may have the tendency to follow our sin nature, but that is not why God made us. God made us to worship Him.
Reaping the Whirlwind – You Get What You Give
Hosea 8:7. If you do not put your resources to work as God’s good stewards, you will reap the whirlwind. If you are always chasing after “free stuff” (gambling, lottery, scams, stealing, always borrowing, and so on), you are sowing into the wind. If you sow into the wind, you will get what you give. You will reap a whirlwind.
