Mercy
Show Christian Patience To Others As Christ Has Shown Patience To Us
Colossians 3:12. Jesus showed us how to have Christian patience while He was on this Earth. Instead of us getting impatience with others, Jesus teaches us to forgive others just as He has forgiven us.
God Have Mercy on Me a Sinner
Luke 18:13. In the parable of the Pharisee and the publican, the publican cried out to God saying, “have mercy on me a sinner” (Luke 18:13). The publican had true knowledge of God. He knew that he had fallen short of God's glory and that he was a sinner (this is the same situation for all of mankind – none of us are perfect by ourselves). The publican also knew that the only way he could get right with God was for God to have mercy on him.
The Secret Of Happiness is Acting Out With A Godly Conscience
2 Corinthians 1:12. The secret of happiness is when our conscience lines up with God, and we act on that Godly conscience. Because our conscience leads us in our day-to-day activities, our conscience is key for us to have God’s eternal joy. By having a Godly conscience we can act Godly in an ungodly world.
A Father Brings Peace and Comfort To His Children
2 Corinthians 1:3. A father-child relationship at it's best is very much like the personal relationship that God offers to all of mankind. A father-child relationship should bring comfort and peace to both the father and the child just as God brings comfort to His children as the god of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3, "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;").
Definition Of Compassion - Faith Brings God's Compassion
Mark 1:41. The definition of compassion includes having compassion for people that have faith in God. God has compassion for people that believe and trust in him. All you need to do is just believe that God has the power to perform miracles, and God will have compassion for you. This is what happen with the leper when he came to Jesus in Galilee. The leper just said "...If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean, And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean." (Mark 1:40-41).
Definition Of Compassion - Repentance Brings God's Compassion
Matthew 18:27. The definition of compassion includes having compassion for people that repent. God has compassion for people that repent. God reaches out to people that repent of their sins. He will forgive and re-establish relationships with people that repent (Matthew 18:26-27, "The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt").
God's Character Is Embodied In The Definition Of Compassion
Matthew 9:36. God is a compassionate God. God's compassion is easy to see by us just looking at the definition of compassion. Compassion is a desire to free others from their suffering. God definitely desires to free all of us from suffering. His compassion is empathy not sympathy. God is definitely emphatic with our human situation. This is because He has experienced our human condition through His Son Jesus Christ who lived among us in human form.
Christian Spiritual Warfare Focuses On Christ and Not The Destruction of the Enemy
Psalms 6:4. Again Christian spiritual warfare focuses totally on conquering the human mind in order for us to take on and keep the mind of Christ. Spiritual warfare does not focus on the destruction of the devil, the flesh, enemies, the world, or death. These things are already defeated. These things can only have dominion over us if we let them. We only need to protect ourselves from these distractions. The real goal of Christian spiritual warfare is to take on the mind of Christ. We do this by faith, prayer, knowing God's Word, and intersession.
Child Discipline Is Done In Mercy
2 Samuel 7:15. Any discipline to a child must be done in mercy. We discipline a child not to judge the child. We discipline the child to help the child to create good habits. Discipline should always be done in mercy and not for the sole purpose of punishment. We must have mercy on a child just as God has mercy on us. Even if a child needs constant discipline, we must have mercy and never abandon the child (2 Samuel 7:14-15, "I will be his father, and he shall be my son.
