The Three Aspects of the Prosperity Gospel: Material, Health, and Salvation.

The Bible takes a comprehensive view of prosperity that includes material prosperity, good health, and the spiritual salvation of our soul. To avoid misapplying the prosperity gospel in our day-to-day lives, we must understand that prosperity is more than just material prosperity. 3rd John 1:2 tells us to prosper materially and to be in good health as our soul prospers.

3rd John 2, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

Prosperity Gospel: Having Life More Abundantly.

A key component of the Prosperity Gospel is that Jesus is our source of an abundant and prosperous life. Jesus’ purpose while he was on the Earth was to offer mankind a life more abundant. The Devil may temp us with his lies of prosperity and happiness, but if we follow his lies it will result in our ultimate destruction and eternal separation from God. In John 10:10 Jesus advises us the wiles of the Satan and of Jesus’ purpose to offer us a life more abundant.

John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Prosperity Gospel: God is Glorified When He Prospers Us.

Jesus states that it glorifies God to answer the prayers of those that ask in Jesus’ name. Jesus desires to prosper us because he loves us and to glorify God. John 14:13 advises us that Jesus answers our prayers to glorify his father.

John 14:13, “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

Prosperity Gospel: Stay in Relationship With Jesus And Prosper.

The blessings and answered prayers of the Prosperity Gospel are based on a big “IF”. That “if” being if we abide in Jesus, are prayers and requests will be answered and fulfilled by Jesus. John 15:7 advises us to abide in Jesus and he will answer our prayers.

John 15:7, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
