Repentance
The Bible Says That Patience is a Characteristic of God
2 Peter 3:9. The Bible says that God is a patient God. Many of us have heard the expression that “I am waiting on God”, but it is really the other way round. God is waiting on us to come around to His kind of thinking. God loves us and has made many promises to mankind. He desires to bless us. He does not forget His promises as a man might forget. He can fulfill all of His promises where a person may have good intentions, but is unable to fulfill their promises. God loves us and He has created mankind for His purposes.
Giving out of Love and Repentance
Luke 19:8. One reason that Christians have a need for giving is because of the Godly repentance in their hearts. As part of repenting and turning away from sin, Christians yield willingly to God. The God in us then urges them to give generously to the people that they have hurt previously because of their sinful actions.
Seeking God Through Prayer Is Spiritual Warfare
2 Chronicles 7:14. Once we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, prayer is the primary way for us to maintain the mind of Christ. Prayer is a demonstration of our faith in God and is the main way for us to conduct spiritual warfare. In order to conduct spiritual warfare we place our focus on God and not His enemies.
You Show Your Love Of God's Word When You Repent and Obey
Mark 1:15. The Bible is God's truth in written form. The Bible provides the evidence and the truth that there is only one God and that we can only have an everlasting relationship with Him through our mediator, Jesus Christ. The inspired words of the Bible provide evidence of the sinfulness and disobedience of all mankind that has separated us from a holy God. Only by us repenting of our sin nature, accepting the salvation of Jesus, and walking in God's truth can we be saved and be reconciled back to God.
Definition Of Compassion - Repentance Brings God's Compassion
Matthew 18:27. The definition of compassion includes having compassion for people that repent. God has compassion for people that repent. God reaches out to people that repent of their sins. He will forgive and re-establish relationships with people that repent (Matthew 18:26-27, "The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt").
For With Repentedness Comes Forgiveness
Luke 17:4. One of the hardest things in coping with adultery is to actually forgive the marriage partner that has committed the adulterous act. The Bible tells us that if someone repents, we are suppose to forgive them. Even if they keep falling down but truly repent, we should forgive them (Luke 17:3-4, “Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
It is a Personal Responsibility To Sanctify Yourself
Joshua 7:13. Once you know that you have sinned and are willing to accept personal responsibility for your sin, you need to follow through on your responsibility. Jesus, our Lord and Savior, gives us the means to turn away from sin and set aside ourselves for God. Accepting personal responsibility for our sins means that we repent and sanctify ourselves before God.
