Resurrection
The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ
A key part of Christian faith is the belief in the actual resurrection of Jesus. A resurrection where Jesus was in human form and he was brought back from death to live forever. Jesus' resurrection proves to us in no certain terms that God has complete power over death. If you believe that the resurrection of Jesus actually occurred, then it follows that you believe in His promise that all humans can have victory over death. You will believe that Jesus is the one way and that you can have eternal life.
Seeking God Through Prayer Is Spiritual Warfare
Once we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, prayer is the primary way for us to maintain the mind of Christ. Prayer is a demonstration of our faith in God and is the main way for us to conduct spiritual warfare. Our focus in spiritual warfare is on God and not his enemies.
The Resurrection Spirit Is For Us To Use
With us having this resurrection spirit in us, God desires for us to use this power. Through our close relationship with Him, we can use this resurrection power to turn death into life. Through the spirit of the resurrection, God desires us to bear life-giving fruit (Romans 7:4, "Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.").
The Resurrection Spirit Is In Us
In Romans 8:11 the Bible says that we can have the same spirit in us as the Spirit of Him that raised Jesus from the dead. All we have to do is accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Through His act on the cross we are made clean and righteous enabling the resurrection spirit to enter us (Romans 8:10). With the spirit of the resurrection in us we are able to defeat death and sin (Romans 8:13). All Christians have this spirit of God in them and they will defeat death. This spirit in us will defeat sin and death just as with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We Must Follow The Path Of Jesus' Resurrection
God's resurrection plan is for us to follow Jesus in our own resurrection resulting in our own eternal life. We that accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior will follow in His footsteps. If you really believe that Jesus' resurrection occurred, you can follow in His footsteps (Romans 6:5-11). You can be dead from sin. If your mother was a drunk, you do not need to be a drunk. If you committed adultery last week, you do not have to do it this week. If you were hateful with people yesterday, you do not have to be hateful today. Jesus' resurrection destroyed the body of sin. We continue to sin only out of ignorance, disobedience, or habit. Jesus has completed the resurrection act; we just need to believe in him and follow in His footsteps. Following His path we will sin no more and can have a personal relationship with God.
The Resurrection Plan Is God's Answer To Man Being Re-United With God
With the first man, Adam brought sin and death to mankind. Also, with a man, Jesus Christ, by His resurrection He offered life to us all (1 Corinthians 15:21-22). We must understand that mankind has chosen to be separated from God. God did not choose to be separated from us. This separation started with Adam where he made a decision to be disobedient to God rather than obey God. It still goes on today where the tendency of our sin nature is to sin and be separated from God. But God has a resurrection plan for us to follow the path of Jesus. It is only Jesus' work on the cross that offers us the opportunity to re-establish a personal relationship with God.
The Resurrection Spirit
The Bible says that we can have the same spirit in us as the Spirit of Him that raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 8:11, "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you"). This is another assurance for Christians that explicitly tells us that we will have eternal life. We will go through the same resurrection as Jesus Christ. The spirit of God that is in all Christians will defeat death.
The Historical Resurrection Of Jesus
Jesus' resurrection is many times thought of in abstract terms or just treated as a form of a holiday with the celebration of Easter each year. In reality it is the most important historical event that has ever occurred in the world. This unique historical event consisted of Jesus, in human form, dying on the cross and then three days later Him being resurrected from the dead to live forever. As Jesus was in human form, His resurrection proved that man can have complete victory over death and live forever in their glorified body.
Faith In The Resurrection Of Jesus
A key part of Christian faith is the belief in the actual resurrection of Jesus. A resurrection where Jesus was in human form and he was brought back from death to live forever. Jesus' resurrection proves to us in no certain terms that God has complete power over death. If you believe that the resurrection of Jesus actually occurred, then it follows that you believe that all humans can have victory over death.
Our Christian Faith Is Based On The Resurrection Of Jesus
The key component of Christian faith is the belief in the actual resurrection of Jesus. The resurrection of Jesus is God's plan for us to be saved and have eternal life. That makes the resurrection of Jesus most significant. God has shown us the way to salvation and eternal life through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus' resurrection provides evidence that mankind can have victory over death. Jesus walked on this Earth as a man, then died, then resurrected from the dead, and is living forever. All of us can also have eternal life by having resurrection faith, by putting our faith and hope in the work of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:21, "Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God."). If we have faith in God we will go through the same process as Jesus. Our body will die (unless the rapture occurs), and at the return of Christ we will be given our glorified bodies just as it happened to Jesus. We will live forever. Jesus was the first man to be resurrected from the dead and live forever. We can follow in His footsteps with resurrection faith in our hearts.
