Faith In The Resurrection Of Jesus.

A key part of Christian faith is the belief in the actual resurrection of Jesus. A resurrection where Jesus was in human form and he was brought back from death to live forever. Jesus’ resurrection proves to us in no certain terms that God has complete power over death. John 11:25 advises that believers in the resurrection of Jesus Christ will have eternal life.

The Historical Resurrection Of Jesus.

Jesus’ resurrection is many times thought of in abstract terms or just treated as a form of a holiday with the celebration of Easter each year. In reality it is the most important historical event that has ever occurred in the world. This unique historical event consisted of Jesus, in human form, dying on the cross and then three days later Him being resurrected from the dead to live forever. Romans 6:9 advises us that Jesus’ resurrection is the historical evidence that a human can have power over death.

Romans 6:9, “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.”

The Resurrection Spirit.

The Bible says that we can have the same spirit in us as the Spirit of Him that raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 8:11, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you”). Romans 8:11 advises us that we can have the same Resurrection Spirit as Jesus.

Romans 8:11, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

We Must Follow The Path Of Jesus’ Resurrection.

God has a resurrection plan for all us. He desires for us to follow in Jesus’ footsteps to include going through our own resurrection resulting in eternal life. We that accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior are committed to follow in His footsteps. Romans 6:5 advises us on the necessity of following the path of Jesus.

Romans 6:5, “For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:”
