Vanity In A Relationship Is A Sign Of A Bad Relationship.

Vanity consists of no purpose, no reward, and overall trivializes things. A high level of vanity in a relationship is a sure sign of a bad relationship. Ecclesiastes 1:2 tells us of the vanity of pursuing a life without a purpose, without God, and without love.

Ecclesiastes 1:2, “says Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.”

Lack Of Commitment Is A Sign Of A Bad Relationship.

When one or both partners in a relationship lack commitment, this is a sign of a bad relationship. Many of us that are married may have the opportunity to commit adultery, but that does not mean that we should do it. Galatians 5:13 advises us to love and serve one another and not use our freedom to sin.

Galatians 5:13, “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”

Self-Centeredness In A Relationship Is A Sign Of A Bad Relationship.

If the purpose of a relationship is based on self-centeredness, this is a sign of a bad relationship. Our society encourages selfish relationships. God, on the other hand, desires that all relationships be based on selfless love. 2nd Kings 17:15 tells us of the ills of being self-centered.

2nd Kings 17:15, “And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.”

Having Different Purposes Is A Sign Of A Bad Relationship.

If you have different purposes in a relationship, this is a sign of a bad relationship. For Christians all relationships must involve God because God, our Creator, desires it that way. When a Christian and a non-Christian enter a partnership relationship such as a marriage, there will be conflict. 2nd Corinthians 6:14 advises us not to unequally yoked together.

2nd Corinthians 6:14, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
